We the People, The Principles of Political Action
Part 6: The Seven Elements of Political Action
Introduction
Instincts and intuition – are they one and the same, or do they differ? I have often believed they were synonymous, but there are distinctions to be made. Intuition arises from deep understanding and insights gained through experience and observation. It enables individuals to make rapid and accurate judgments or predictions based on subconscious processing of information. On the other hand, instincts refer to innate and automatic behaviors that arise without conscious thought, often developed through repeated exposure to specific stimuli or situations.
In combat scenarios, instincts are honed through rigorous training and practice. They become automatic and reflexive, enabling quick and effective responses under high-pressure circumstances. Intuition manifests as heightened situational awareness, allowing individuals to anticipate enemy actions or intentions. While instincts operate without conscious thought, intuition involves a profound understanding. Both instincts and intuition can be cultivated through a combination of studying and analyzing combat-related aspects, such as intelligence trends and enemy activity reports, as well as practical experience gained from training exercises and real-life combat situations.
The question arises – why are instincts and intuition significant in the realm of political action? Does it mean that Americans should deeply immerse themselves in local politics to develop instincts and intuition for assessing their leaders' actions? To some extent, yes. The process of cultivating instincts and intuition begins with understanding the fundamental aspects of the system one aims to navigate. Personally, I attended a year-long Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) school in Florida, which provided essential knowledge in my field. I also underwent training in mobility skills like fast roping, repelling, and static line Army Airborne school.
Furthermore, unit-specific training in small unit tactics served as a foundation for enhancing my knowledge. Instincts and intuition can indeed be trained and refined, but without grasping the basics, it becomes challenging to develop instinctive reactions or responses. Every form of action, including political action, requires a solid foundation. In my article titled "17th SOG Solution," I emphasized the importance of defining and refining problems – a significant challenge faced by Americans at the local level. When we lack understanding of our system, problems can appear insurmountable and overwhelming.
Refining a problem allows it to shrink and become more manageable by identifying stakeholders, underlying reasons, and vulnerabilities contributing to the issue. Some of the concepts I will explore in this article were developed by me during my tenure in the Navy at Command Training Evaluation Unit One in San Diego. This experience equipped me with specific strategies to cultivate instincts, intuition, and situational awareness, enabling me to predict and proactively respond to adversaries' actions, both as a first responder and as a citizen. Proactive action is crucial as it keeps us ahead of problems, empowering us to respond effectively when they arise. However, proactive engagement requires a comprehensive understanding of the system one seeks to address.
Trying to take action without identifying the underlying problem is like swinging a hammer blindly without a nail to hit.

The Seven Elements of Political Action
Summary
The Seven Elements of Political Action
1. Fundamentals of Local Government
The Fundamentals of Local Government form the bedrock of civic awareness and political action. This foundational element, as discussed in Part 3 of 'We the People', delves into the structure and operation of local government within the framework of Federalism. It explores the decentralized system, the various types and forms of local government, and the legal framework that governs their operation. Furthermore, it examines the concept of autonomy, including aspects such as incorporated municipalities and home rule. Understanding these fundamentals is crucial for effective civic participation and forms the first element of our seven-part exploration of political action.
2. Levels of Awareness
Levels of awareness is a systematic approach that empowers individuals to actively participate in local governance. It involves gathering and interpreting relevant information, understanding the workings of local government, identifying opportunities for positive community contribution, and enforcing accountability. This process can be broken down into five key components:
Technical Awareness: This refers to the understanding of the autonomy, authority, jurisdiction, rules, services, operational framework, and regulations that govern local authorities. It involves comprehending the powers and limitations of local government, its scope and potential overreaches, as well as the services it provides.
Situational Awareness: This element entails anticipating potential outcomes of proposed community policies or initiatives. In essence, Situational Awareness (SA) is the perception of environmental elements and events, the comprehension of their meaning, and the projection of their future status. When applied to a local community context, this concept can be broken down into three parts:
Perception: Recognizing the elements in your local environment, such as a proposed government development.
Comprehension: Interpreting their potential impacts on the community.
Projection: Anticipating future scenarios, like the outcome of the development.
Predictive Awareness: This stage combines technical and situational awareness, applying analytical techniques to anticipate future developments in local government and their potential impact on the community. This might involve analyzing trends in local government decisions, predicting the effects of proposed initiatives, and identifying potential areas of concern or focus for the future.
Instinctive Awareness: This refers to the ability to quickly assess a situation and respond appropriately. In a civic context, this involves:
Perception: Recognizing the current state of affairs in the community and understanding what is affected by specific issues.
Analysis: Gaining knowledge and understanding of the available information, such as laws, codes, regulations, and statutes related to government decision-making on community issues.
Terrain: Acknowledging the social, political, and physical environment of the local community.
Hazards: Identifying potential risks or issues within the community that could be addressed through local government action.
Intuitive Awareness: This final stage can be described as the culmination of the previous stages, where individuals develop a heightened sense of intuition and instinctive understanding regarding their local government and community. It transcends conscious analysis, fostering a deep understanding and connection with the community.
3. Collective Civic Engagement (Teamwork)
Unity of effort and unified action are terms commonly used in military applications adjusted for political action. It is to describe the collaboration and coordination among individuals or groups working towards a common goal.
Unity of effort refers to the collective cooperation and coordination of different entities, such as organizations, teams, or individuals, to achieve a shared objective. It emphasizes the importance of aligning efforts, resources, and strategies to maximize effectiveness and synergy.
Unified action implies a synchronized and harmonized approach taken by diverse parties involved in a joint endeavor. It emphasizes the need for coordination, communication, and cooperation to ensure cohesive and mutually supportive actions towards a common purpose.
Both concepts highlight the significance of working together, pooling resources, and maintaining coordination among various stakeholders to enhance the likelihood of success in achieving shared objectives in political action.
4. Tactics of Political Action
Tactical actions encompass various essential elements, including unity of effort, unified action, lines of operation, elements of effort, lines of effort, line of action, path of action, line of influence, collective lines of action, collective paths of action, and the overarching concept of the collective nexus. These tactics provide comprehensive directional concepts for citizens to effectively engage in political action and exert influence towards their desired outcomes.
Trying to take action without a plan is like setting sail on the ocean without a compass or a destination.
Definitions:
Line of operation: is a term commonly used in strategic planning and refers to a specific course of action or a series of related actions taken by citizens to achieve a desired outcome or objective within their political engagement. It provides a framework for organizing and coordinating their efforts, ensuring alignment towards a common purpose.

These different levels of political actions provide opportunities for individuals, communities, and collectives to contribute to political processes, effect change, and make a meaningful impact in their local communities and beyond.
The flow of information and the process of political engagement can be understood through several key elements: fundamentals, levels of awareness, teamwork, individual and collective tactics, actions, and defensive and offensive political strategies. These elements work together to generate influence and bring about desired outcomes.
Fundamentals: The foundation of effective political engagement lies in understanding the fundamentals of local government and the political system.
Levels of Awareness: Building on the fundamentals, individuals gain a deeper awareness of civic issues and the impact of political decisions on their lives and communities.
Teamwork: Political engagement is not solely an individual endeavor. It requires teamwork and collaboration among like-minded individuals, organizations, and communities who share common goals and interests.
Individual and Collective Tactics: Based on their understanding of local government and levels of awareness, individuals and collectives employ specific tactics to influence the political landscape. These tactics may include education and information dissemination, voter registration and mobilization, coalition building, direct contact with representatives, petitioning, grassroots organizing, advocacy campaigns, and more.
Actions: Tactics are translated into actions that individuals and collectives undertake to advance their political objectives.
Defensive and Offensive Political Strategies: Individuals and collectives utilize a variety of defensive and offensive political strategies to protect their interests, challenge the status quo, and bring about change.
Influence: The ultimate goal of political engagement is to exert influence over decision-making processes, policies, and public opinion. By leveraging the fundamentals, increasing awareness, working as a team, employing tactics, taking action, and utilizing defensive and offensive political strategies, individuals and collectives can generate influence that shapes the political discourse, drives policy changes, and fosters societal transformation.
7. Application of Political Action
Understanding the flow of information and the process empowers individuals and collectives to navigate the complex terrain of political engagement, maximizing their impact and contributing to meaningful and positive change. The next aspect to comprehend is the application of political action. Assuming we have identified a refined problem, how do we effectively apply solutions? Effective solutions are executed systematically, accurately, and with sophistication. Using political tactics and political actions we can address refined problems in creative ways that maximizes results of influence.
To maximize influence, it is essential to employ multiple angles of action rather than relying solely on single lines of action. Just as multiple angles of fire and various weapons systems are crucial in combat for winning battles, we need to adopt a similar approach in political engagement. This concept, which I refer to as "angles of action," involves utilizing multiple angles of action with different political actions or "weapons systems" to achieve greater effectiveness. By implementing this tactic, we can multiply our efforts and actions, ultimately amplifying our influence.
Example 1: Standard Action, School Board Problem: Voter Mobilization
In the context of addressing the refined problem of the school board voting issue, we can employ the following "standard" strategic angles of action:
Individual Angle of Action: Voter Registration and Participation
Ensure that you are registered to vote in the upcoming school board election. This individual action empowers you to directly exercise your voting rights and influence the outcome of the election.
Community Angle of Effort: Voter Mobilization
Encourage other parents and community members to actively participate in the school board election. By mobilizing a collective effort within your community, you can increase voter turnout and collectively impact the decision-making process.
Collective Path of Action: Advocacy Campaigns
Launch a comprehensive campaign to raise awareness about the school board's decision and its potential consequences. Through coordinated efforts and collective action, you can engage in advocacy activities such as public outreach, media engagement, and grassroots organizing. This collective path of action amplifies your message, broadens your reach, and generates a larger impact on public opinion and policy decisions.
By adopting a planned and coordinated strategic approach that utilizes individual, community, and collective angles of action, you have the power to multiply your unified action and unity of efforts. This multiplication leads to increased influence and the potential for meaningful change in addressing the school board voting issue. However, to further enhance your influence and expand your impact, it is important to consider additional strategies. These strategies involve increasing your "firepower" or "influence" by utilizing more angles of action and focusing your efforts.
Example 2: Advanced Actions, School board decision violates rules or policies.
Individual Angle of Action 1:
Grievances: If the school board decision violates any rules or policies, take the necessary steps to file a formal grievance. This individual action holds the school board accountable and challenges their decision on legal grounds.
Community Angle of Action 2:
Participatory Budgeting: Engage in the budgeting process to influence how school funds are allocated. By actively participating and advocating for the allocation of resources in alignment with community needs and priorities, you can have a direct impact on the decision-making process.
Collective Angle of Action 3:
Legal Challenges: If the school board decision appears to be potentially unlawful, consider seeking legal advice or pursuing a lawsuit. This collective action utilizes the legal system to challenge the decision and protect the rights and interests of the community.
Additional Angle of Action 4:
Community Organizing: Mobilize a larger group of community members to join the campaign against the school board decision. By expanding the collective effort and involving a broader range of community voices and resources, you can strengthen your influence and increase the likelihood of achieving your goals.
By incorporating these advanced strategic angles of action into your approach, you enhance your ability to effect change and increase your influence at a larger scale. This progression allows for more coordinated and focused efforts, increasing your influence and empowering you to address the school board voting issue with increased firepower and effectiveness. Let us yet again scale up with another angle of action, but this time, we will add more coordination. Keep in mind that scalability will depend on citizen involvement at an individual, collective, and community level. A heavy action campaign can truly influence the political environment in a very big way. Consider the following Heavy Action:
Example 3: Heavy Actions, Electoral Campaign

6.1.4 Collective Nexus: A community-driven media campaign that amplifies the voices of community members, reaches a broader audience, and contributes to the collective efforts to replace the board members.
These advanced actions, utilizing multiple angles of action and enhanced collective efforts with maximum coordination, significantly increase the collective nexus, enhance the potential for change, and contribute to the transformation of the school board's composition and decision-making dynamics.
By adopting a planned and coordinated strategic approach that utilizes individual, community, and collective angles of action, citizens can multiply their unified action and unity of efforts, resulting in increased influence and the potential for meaningful impact. However, citizens should also embrace creativity and explore innovative ways to further enhance their influence. By thinking outside the box and finding unique approaches, citizens can discover new angles of action and tactics that amplify their impact on the school board voting issue. This may involve leveraging technology, developing grassroots campaigns, or forging strategic partnerships. The power of creativity can unlock additional avenues for citizens to increase their influence and drive transformative outcomes.

I think (my 2 cents) instincts come from training and intuition comes from God. We all have intuition but have to know to tap into it. Instincts come from lots of dedicated training. Thank you for all that y’all do and thank you for loving our country.
I admire the work outline you put together. Great help needed everywhere.
