Consider the White Oak, Quercus Alba, a symbol of endurance and majesty, much like the United States. Its roots, deep and robust, mirror our nation's foundational principles, principles born during the First Great Awakening. This period sowed the seeds of freedom, liberty, and justice, breaking free from the confines of organized religion.
Some argue that our history's freest moment arrived after the American Revolution. Yet, other epochs saw freedom more fully realized: the abolition of slavery in 1865, women's suffrage in 1920, and fair labor practices in the 1930s.
But as America has grown, so too has the attention of its adversaries, those who oppose our freedom, sovereignty, and right to bear arms. The question then arises: how does one infiltrate a nation with principles as deep-rooted as the White Oak? This question serves as a stark reminder of the vigilance required to protect our cherished freedoms.
How have we found ourselves infiltrated when our founding principles were held in such high esteem, and our roots were deeply entrenched within our communities? Much like a white oak tree with its crown of beauty and its deeply faceted roots, over time these roots, the fundamental elements of our society, have been subject to a series of unfortunate circumstances, set forth by our adversaries, and gated by our own lack of vigilance.
This was not a mere accident of history, but a deliberate act. Our adversaries observed these roots, understood their importance, and meticulously crafted an environment that would lead to their distraction and eventual starvation. They clouded the vision of these roots, depriving them of the nourishment they needed to flourish, diminishing what lies above the surface.
In some cases, these roots lost their sense of identity, forgetting their intrinsic nature and purpose. They forgot that they were the lifeblood of our society, the channels through which our founding principles were upheld and propagated.
This forgetfulness was not a natural occurrence, but a consequence of a carefully orchestrated plan by those who sought to undermine us.
When such a lapse in memory occurs, our adversaries seize the opportunity. They plant their roots, protect them, nourish them, and in due course, after decades unnoticed, these roots grow sufficiently to give rise to a surface entity. This entity, emerging from the depths, replaces our core values and founding principles at the helm.
It's a curious thing about roots, indeed. They may be unseen, buried deep within the soil, yet they hold the power to dictate the life and form of what grows above. They are the silent architects, shaping our world from beneath the surface.
The original roots, starved and blinded to dormancy, begin to stir and take stock of their surroundings.
They cast their gaze upwards, towards the surface, and are met with a sight that is foreign to them. The entities they observe on the surface are not of their making.
In the midst of this disorientation, these roots find themselves in conflict with each other, grappling with uncertainty about their next course of action, wondering what had happened, casting blame on each other, not seeing the true enemy.
They begin to question the founding principles that once guided them, doubting the very ideology that had granted them the freedom to establish themselves. Passing judgement on the once beautiful white oak tree that sprouted above the surface, blaming its decay on false reasoning and adversarial deceit.
While never realizing that they are left with but a single choice before they tear each other asunder and left to bleed into the soil, they cannot come to understand that there is only one battlefield where this struggle to reclaim the white oak tree they once knew can take place.
The strongest roots, ones that held onto the sap of freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, held up the white oak tree while it grew sick. Striving to grow as an example, trying to uphold the founding principles that brought beauty to the white oak tree above the surface.
They fully comprehend that to prevent themselves from being ripped apart and shredded, they must resort to political tactics. They realize that, in order to prevent this root bleed, a root bleed that is promoted and admired by the foreign roots next to them, there is a pathway towards self-preservation. That pathway is unity, effort, and unified action.
The roots that held onto the sap of freedom, liberty, and justice, held onto their moral values that God demands, know this to be true.
This is a plea to the other roots, the ones still connected to the beauty that’s above the surface, but refuse to see,
“There exists but a single choice, a solitary battlefield, regardless of the adversary we face and see above the surface. May I remind you all, roots, when nourished appropriately, extend downwards, growing robust and healthy. Creating strength and beauty above the surface. If one seeks to topple the enemy perched at the pinnacle above the surface, the strategy is straightforward: strengthen our roots and expose the foreign ones by severing them from their above surface entity.”
Once the roots are severed, the entity above will gradually wither and perish while ours grows strong again. A structure cannot maintain its position at the top without roots. Our battlefield is precisely where these roots thrive, right next to you, right where you thrive.
Foreign roots, they flourish either because we remain oblivious to their existence, choose to ignore them, or worse, we nourish them ourselves.
From my vantage point, as I've stated previously, there is but one choice, one battlefield, and one initial target to neutralize. It is next to you, the bad roots and it is where you thrive. Fix your communities first, this is where our children are, this is where our country needs us the most.
