Guess what? Chaos is also cyclical. Today (12/23/24) at 11:58 pm EST, the Sun will be in exact opposition to TNO Chaos. A TNO is a "Trans-Neptunian Object". They are much larger than asteroids, but a little smaller than dwarf planets like Pluto & Eris. And they definitely do exert energetic influence. As some of us are well aware, "those who don't have our best interests at heart" definitely try to use energetic timing events such as this to their best advantage. The "2 minutes to midnight" timing symbology is also something to be mindful of. Not saying anything is defintely going to kick off tonight, but this increases the timing odds just enough that it needed to be called out for awareness...
The old trope is "The stars impel, they don't compel." But I think impel may be too strong a word. It's more about energy & frequency & potentialities - setting up the conditions such that if something "chaotic" will be manifested (anywhere along the scale from micro/personal to macro/global), then the energy of this aspect helps facilitates that manifestation. That Chaos is also conjunct the Mid-Heaven (most visible, active part of the chart) is also fairly significant.
According to astrologer Mark Andrew Holmes, TNO Chaos has an orbital period of 312 years, 290 days - so it's not like this Solar opposition is a yearly occurrence. The rarity of this particular aspect would seem to me to increase the likelihood of "someone" wanting to use it to stir up some more "chaos". It's also helpful to not look at any particular aspect in a vacuum. So, here's a short discussion of some other related things going on in the transit chart for "2 minutes to midnight" :)
On the other side of the oppositional equation, Sol is conjunct the IC (Imum Coeli) - this is the nadir, the "darkest" part of a chart. It is the cusp of the Fourth House, which represents Home/Family/Roots/Heritage, and some also say psychological makeup - since that is very heavily influenced by family dynamics in early life. Sol & the IC are also very tightly conjunct asteroid "Discovery". It seems sort of inverted that Discovery would be in the darkest part of the chart rather than up at the Mid-Heaven (which represents the Sun at mid-day, illuminating everything). But since the Sun is actually at the nadir rather than the mid-heaven at the time of opposition, it is still fitting in an ironic kinda way...
Given that it is the Christmas holiday season and many families will be gathering (not always peacefully) - on the "micro / personal" level, this opposition could well be represented by some dysfunctional and/or toxic family dynamic systems getting activated again and causing "holiday chaos". Perhaps with Discovery's participation in this event, some things (family secrets, etc.) will be brought to light and contribute to the chaos.
On the "Macro / global" level - it could be any number of things being brought to light by "Discovery" that help stir up some "Chaos". But given the involvement of the Fourth House, maybe think about the subject of "Family/Roots/Heritage" of humanity at a "species level". What's been in Sol's X-Ray machine (the MC) - aka "the media spotlight" in our skies recently? What kind of Discovery (disclosure) might that portend? Certainly it will be Chaotic on the macro scale when a whole lot of humans have to face and integrate psychologically that whatever they may have believed about the origins of humans (often tightly linked to their religious views) is not even close to what they thought.... And even if all the "UFO / drone / whatever sightings" are just another cabal psyop, CHAOS seems to be their weapon of choice these days....
